Opinion: Was Michael Jackson the Poster Child for Self-Hatred!

Look, if you get mad at this story, don't get mad at me... get mad at Myra Panache!

Michael Jackson is the greatest entertainer in history BUT he was also the poster child for self-hatred. Is this the real reason he cut his family out of his will? It was always tension surrounding the siblings but Michael didn't even leave his nieces or nephews anything. The Jackson bloodline will not inherit anything!

Backstory:

According to Michael's long time publicist-Bob Jones: "Michael regularly injected himself with a bleaching agent to whiten his skin. It made sense because he hated dark-skinned and black people. He wanted to be white. I had no doubt about it!"

When Michael wasn't injecting himself with this agent. He was ordering bleaching creams from the Mickey Fine Pharmacy in Hollywood. The Mickey Fine Pharmacy sued Michael for $10,000. They said they'd been making his skin whitening creams and he wasn't paying for it.

Bob Jones adds: "Rebbie was the first in the family to marry. She wed a dark-skinned man, whom the family despised. They had three children, all of the darker persuasion. Michael simply tolerated these kids, but privately despised them simply because of the color of their skin. In contrast, Michael did take a liking to Tito's lighter-skinned sons, as well as Jermaine's. When sick kids came to Neverland to enjoy the rides, Michael was not happy when dark skinned children arrived."

When Michael's mother came along on tours, she'd often lament that 'Michael always has to have those little white boys around.' He has plenty of nieces and nephews, Katherine would say.

The last thing in the world Michael wanted was to perform with his brothers. He had made it clear to all who worked with and for him that his family was to be kept as far away as possible. His dressing room was off limits to his own parents.

Originally, John Branca was interviewed to work for Michael and Randy. Allegedly, Michael told him: I will hire you if you forget about working for Randy.
Unlike the rest of the family, Michael couldn't control Janet. He failed to recognize that she was able to become almost as big, if not as big, as he in the world of popular music.

He signed the rest of the family, including the nieces and nephews to his label and refused to let any of their music get out. Signing family members to his MJJ label was one of the many tools Michael used to ensure that he would be the only Jackson with music on the airwaves. By signing them to long-term contracts and promising them their recordings would be released and promoted, Michael had the entire family at his beck and call.

Of course he'd duck their repeated phone calls and inquiries about their music, and he would rarely allow them to cut an album. There was a notable exception, "3T."

Michael released their album. Their record was a smash in Europe, until, you guessed it. Michael became aware of it. He then hurried to stop it, rushing the boys back to the US with promises of stateside grandeur. Nothing materialized.

In 1989, the rest of the family recorded the album "2300 Jackson Street." Michael appeared in the video for the song and then he had the album pulled out of circulation. Its success could have provided the family with wealth independent of Michael but he wouldn't let it happen.

Bob Jones: Truth be told, Michael had more than an active dislike for the Jackson's, he acted as if he despised his family. Although he admired his mother's parenting skills to a fault, Michael thought of Katherine as the person who had given birth to him. He had gone out of his way to adopt Elizabeth Taylor as his mother.

Lisa Marie had unknowingly broken some rules according to Jones. She had driven to the Hayvenhurst estate in Encino, California and introduced herself to her in-laws. Michael hated that.

This was a no-no. He didn't want her associating with trash, which is what he thought of his own family.

Unlike Michael, Lisa Marie was so down to earth. Jones says: We met this black lady who essentially raised Lisa Marie. During our visit, she made us soul food, which Lisa Marie loved. The feast included fried chicken, macaroni and cheese, sweet potato pie, collard greens and more. Michael of course, turned his nose up at this food and refused to eat it. He didn't want to be connected to his black roots in any way, so he wouldn't indulge.

  1. That was an interesting story, but not any news to me. It was a plain as day that MJ didn't like his own skin color. That ninja wanted and ultimately thought he was white. He didn't even have want his kids to have his blood for fear that they'd come out black. He and Uncle Ruckus (no relation) are two peas in a pod.

  2. Michael hated black people, but portrayed Black people as kings and queens in ancient Egypt (”Remember the Time” video)
-called Tommy Mottola (his then label boss) a devil and a racist
-sang “White man’s gotta make a change” live on the Grammys in ‘88
-sang about a beautiful African woman in “Liberian Girl”
-featured an African chant at the end of “Wanna Be Startin Somethin”
-donated over $25 million to the United Negro College Fund
-sang “I ain’t scared of no sheets” in “Black or White” and upped the ante by morphing into a BLACK PANTHER at the video’s end
-wrote a song called “They Don’t Really Care About Us,” with a Spike Lee-directed video that featured prisoners raising the Black power fist
-uhhh “We Are The World” and USA for Africa, anyone?

Michael was a lot of things, but racist towards his own kind I think not.

      Thank you Anon 9:19!

We did not live in the Jackson home, therefore we do not know all that went on. But from what I do know, Michael had reason to want to distance himself from at least some of his family members. Let's see, his father was physically and mentally abusive. He claimed he witnessed his father cheat on his mother while The Jackson 5 were on tours. His sister LaToya claimed he was guilty of sexual molesting young boys. Jermaine had children with brother Randy's baby mama. Not to mention the jealousy that Jermaine publically displayed towards him. Many of his family members mooched off of him for years. His father constantly asked him for loans (which Joe became unable to pay in latter years) and then Joe would try to make MJ feel guilty by saying shyt like, "I'm the reason you have the success you have now," and "I made you what you are."

And, I should add, Joe constantly belittled MJ and told him how ugly he was, so of course that would have something to do with how you perceive yourself and your self-esteem. MJ wasn't allowed to call Joe 'daddy' or 'father'. Instead, his kids had to call him 'Joseph" while the outside child was allowed to call him daddy.

If the Jacksons are anything like our own families, they probably never really talked about their issues and some people need to deal with that stuff, while others can say "Eff it" and move on with life.

Imagine all the stuff I described, add more dark family secrets and then ask yourself, "Was Michael justified IF he did indeed distance himself from his family?"

  3. The issue I have with this article is that it is so poorly written. Does this author have any evidence or is she just writing a third-grade "theme?" This is bullshit, learn how to write like a scholar lady.

  4. @Anon 9:19, AMEN!!! Some folks need to RESEARCH before that make false claims!! Oh and didn't he have Naomi Campbell (a dark-skinned black woman) as the starring female in one of his videos? Some folks just need to get a life and mind their own business!

  6. Of course he was self hating. I can believe some portions of this email. I don't believe anything about Kat. Him shelving family on purpose. Latoya came out with a bunch of mess. However, family can be worse than any enemy. I'd dissassociate with many of them also. Look the hell Greasy scrunch and the other brother did to each other!

  7. Wow! What interesting to me is that people honestly believe he liked being black or black people. Now he did however as someone stated above had black actresses and actors in his video I suspect it was with the suggestion of John Singleton(director), so no argument there. But let's examine the facts; fact 1) whenever photos appeared about Michael J's charity and how he created a sick ward for kids every photo opt had him pictured with some poor sick white boy/ girl (I guess black kids don't have cancer-thank God, if it was only true for all kids) fact 2) just like Prince everyone he has dated/married WHITE; Fact 3) Debbie Rowe as a surrogate mother (paid her big time). As far as him making these political black songs surely you don't believe he was speaking on behalf of us colored folks do you? It wasn't until he was arrested and persecuted by the very people he looked up to who tried to ruin him that he had a conscience (OJ syndrome).

I use to be the biggest MJ fan there was after the skin lightening, the adopted white kids I was through.
