Bless his heart.
I don't know how true it is, but this what they say... Mathew Clifford tried to do too much too fast since his Music World label (the gospel division) is falling down around him just like everything else.
According to Jawn Murray’s (I love that name, and I wonder if he made it up, or if his deddy's name is John and his mama cuted that up because a little boy named John just don't flow?) AlwaysAList blog.
I told y'all a while back that Cathy Hughes’ Radio One had banned all Music world artists and songs and so did TV One after the label was doing some shady business. Also, artists like BeyoncĂ©, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams ditched the label to do bigger and better things.
So Knowles shifted to gospel music in hopes of restoring a better reputation and keeping his dream alive.
Ya get what ya give.
Johnson recently tweeted a message to her fans that the label had not been treating its “#1 artist” with “respect.”
Now, when a broad came off the streets and signed up for a singing competition and says you're not treating her with respect, I'ma need you to check yaself. Most broads would take whatever you give in order to be famous...
Developing.

LeAndria can Blow and I stream tears every time I hear her sing! That being said, she was homeless, living out of a garbage bag, won the hearts of the gospel/church circuit(and I do believe she an anointing on her), and then turned around and got knocked-up for a 4th time (out of wedlock). Only God Almighty can judge, but I think she may need to re-evaluate a few things. Patience is a virtue...You have been Blessed beyond belief. Don't burn all your bridges. "We" look at "the Don" like he isn't sh^t, but he does have some influence and I think I would at least make sure I had another something to fall back on before I started going into diva mode. #JustSayin
ReplyDeletePart of the issue is that LeAndria had an agreement with Music World that she would halt work towards the end of her pregnancy and then pick up after it. Instead they asked her to do a live album at 7 months. They've released too many albums. 4 or 5 albums almost in 1 year which is insane. Also Radio One controls most of the black stations in the US in turn also most of the black stations that play gospel so no one wants to hitch their cart to Matt anymore.
DeleteAlso one of the groups on Matt's label were nominated for a BET award and were set to attend the event. Matt received their tickets and were supposed to give the ticks to them. Instead Matt used the tickets for himself and left the ladies outside of the venue. An employee of BET let them end after what the ladies called an embarrassing moment at the door. They were supposed to re-sign with Music World but when this happened they decided to leave.
