Teacher Brittni Colleps, 28, was arrested in May when investigators believed they found evidence she may have engaged in inappropriate sexual acts with several male students and sent explicit text and picture messages, according to a Dallas Fox affiliate.
The video evidence shown in court Tuesday was allegedly shot by one
student, who watched as Colleps and the other students had sex, according to the station, which also reports that all of the
students in the video were over 18.
Colleps looked away from the video at some moments when the it was
being shown in court, while one student highlighted the teacher’s unique lower
back tattoo, according to Fox.
One student, identified as “Aaron,” reportedly testified that he
had sex with the teacher for the first time at her home.
“You have something I want,” he said she told him.
Another witness, Kennedale High School Principal Rita Whatley said
that Colleps initially denied the allegations of sexual relations when they met
in May, the Star reports.
Brittni Nicole Colleps allegedly told one student, "You have something I want."
In court, Colleps remained silent when asked how she would plead to
the charges before her, which the Star wrote was registered as a plea of “not
guilty.”
Colleps’ husband, Christopher Colleps, has publically announced he
will stick with the former teacher.
“I hope you will not pass judgment on her because you don’t have
all the facts or details according to this situation,” Fox reported him saying in late May. “I want you to
know I love my wife. I have loved my wife since I laid eyes on her 11 years ago.
I have always supported my wife and will continue to support her through this
entire ordeal.”
The couple’s attorney told the station the Colleps have three
children and remain married.

DeleteWhen I was young, there were no teachers younger than 40 married with kids. you have people within a 10 age group teaching and being taught by one another. Things like this are going to happen sadly.

I definitely wouldn't want my child around people like her. She's supposed to be a teacher, a role model, an inspiration and now she's shaming every teacher worldwide. She got what she deserved.
ReplyDeleteThe students were consenting adults. She should have been fired and banned from teaching for ethical/policy violation, not jailed for criminal behavior.
ReplyDeleteThere was no coercion, and the rights of the the adult students have been trampled in effectively criminalizing their behavior too. 18 & 19 year old men have the right to pursue consensual relations with other legal-age adults.
I respect her husband's decision to approve of and/or enjoy his wife's extra-marital play. It's their right to make their own choices regardless of anyone else's morality.
