Chicago Rapper Lil JoJo Killed, Chief Keef Laughs About It
Gun violence in Chicago has claimed the life of yet another youngster. Rapper Lil Jojo (above) was one of two people gunned down in overnight shootings on the city's South Side Tuesday (Sept. 4).
Police found Jojo—born Joseph Coleman— unresponsive on the street. He was riding a bicycle when a gunman driving a tan or gray vehicle opened fire, according to witness reports. The 18-year-old was transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
As a former member of the Brick Sqaud crew, Jojo had ties to fellow Windy City rappers, Chief Keef and Lil Reese, until they fell out. A video, posted online shows a verbal altercation between Reese and Jojo, with someone in the background saying “I'ma kill you.”
Chief Keef (above) has had an immature and disrespectful response to JoJo's death, tweeting jokes about his demise. “Its Sad Cuz Dat N***a Jojo Wanted To Be Jus Like Us #LMAO,” he wrote, earlier today.
The second victim of the violent outbreak was 19-year-old, Muhammed Kebbeh, who was shot dead on his front porch, roughly an hour and a half before JoJo was hit. Kebbeh was talking to his girlfriend when two men, wearing shirts to hide their faces, shot him several times. He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center where he was pronounced dead the next morning.
Police have yet to arrest suspects in either shooting, but are investigating whether or not JoJo's death was gang related.
