"They" being Michelle over at Straight from the A:
According to several online sources, MeMpHiTz has reportedly filed a federal lawsuit against the creators and producers of “Love And Hip Hop: Atlanta.”
Wright’s legal team, Conti J. Moore and Alcide L. HonorĂ© released the following statement regarding “Whassername” aka Kimberly Michelle Pate (aka K. Irrelevant) and her allegations of domestic violence, which she played for the cameras all season during Love & Hip Hop Atlanta:
“Ms. Pate (K. Michelle) has taken full advantage of society’s tendency to accept claims of domestic violence as always being true, even in the absence of proof.
The only abuse that actually occurred is the malicious and calculated pattern of vicious lies Ms. Pate has assailed for the purpose of fabricating a compelling story line in an attempt to ruin my client’s name."
Even the most ridiculous statements when repeated frequently become true in the minds of many.Woomp there it is!
Ms. Pate’s preposterous claims, which include allegations that Mr. Wright mismanaged funds and caused her career to ‘flop’, have been adopted as truth by many followers of the popular VH-1 reality series.
Wright claims in the lawsuit that he deserves extensive compensation for the pain & suffering he and his family has undergone due to Whassername’s stories.
My family and I have suffered tremendously while VH-1, Monami Ent., and the other companies provided a worldwide platform for K. Michelle to repeatedly assassinate my character.Well, he was right when he said what he said about the damage being irreparable, because I, for one, believe that he whooped her a$$!
I said it!! Now, get one of Toya's fine a$$ brothers to check me, Boo! (please?)

I believe that an altercation took place but I don't believe that her beat her like she is trying to make it
ReplyDeleteShe claims to have all this proof like threatening messages why not release them what reason would she have to protect him if her beat her azz the way she says he did
Release the PROOF and clear up any misconceptions
He did something to the girl..that I believe. But she had been given a platform to "come up" and try to make something of herself musically and instead she chose to play the victim and dwell on somebody beatin dat a$$!
ReplyDeleteYou overcoming whatever it is he did, making moves, and doin the damn thing, with dignity, would have have been payback enough and a spat in the face. Don't let anybody think they had that kind of affect on you to the point that's all you talk about! That man has moved on with if life (with a wife) and she needs to do the same. He might have beat on you, maybe, but you didn't do a damn thing about it then....Why give "your" spotlight to someone else, the very somebody you claim ain't sh^t and did you wrong? #EffEm
I hope she does have proof cause now that she done ran her mouth so much she is going to need it in court! Smdh
I believe that an altercation took place, perhaps more than one altercation. But, I don't believe that she was the innocent victim she claims to be. See, for me, there is a big difference in a man abusing you and REACTING to something YOU'VE done. Just like we want proof of Zimmerman's claim of self-defense, I would like proof of K. Michelle's accusations against this man. There's a big difference in, "That man beat my azz!" and, "That man beat my azz because I. . ." I have seen how stupid SHE can act (like when she threw a knife at Carlie Redd and hit her in the head), so it's hard fof me to feel completely sorry for her right off the bat, just like it's hard for me to feel completely sorry for Evelyn. Now, if I'm proven wrong, then I can admit that. But until then, I'm not 100% convinced. . .
ReplyDeleteMy thing is, she never ever mentioned his name. So, no one would've known it was him, until HE revealed 'himself' and then his wife Toya decided to speak on it.
ReplyDeleteI don't know, wasn't there. But, what I do know is that I will never tell anyone male or female, that they weren't abused or don't believe them and need proof.
Yes, people do lie, people lie every single solitary day. But it is not up to me to decide truth or not.
Zimmerman's claim was faulty from jump, seasoned detectives didn't believe. Like many victims of domestic violence, K Michelle, didn't go to the authorities so, no proof has to be made and again she never uttered his name a single time. It was him, his wife and then rasheeda.
My husband is an officer and he sees it all the time, if they file they never follow through...even when they have been bruised and bloodied. So sad..
I guess the thing with people wanting proof is that when you put yourself "out there" you have to take the good with the bad. It's just a sad time when we require proof that someone was abused.
Again, I'm not saying it happened or didn't happen..
Think about it from the accused's point of view. There INDEED needs to be proof. If you're accusing me of a charge, no matter what it is, then PROVE IT! I have two sons and I would HATE for the law to automatically assume that the woman's version of the story is Biblical JUST BECAUSE SHE SAID SO. Don't just roll up to me and tell me my mother stole your purse and expect me to believe it without evidence. Just because you find a body near my home doesn't make me the killer. If you find a ding on your door in the parking lot of Target, it doesn't mean the person who is now parked next to you is guilty. You can't just throw accusations around and not expect the accused to rebuttle, especially IF he/she is innocent.
ReplyDeleteLove and Hip Hop is not the first known time of K Michelle speaking on the "abuse," so of course Memph knew she was talking about him.
If you're bringing me a story, you're indeed expecting me to decide whether or not you're telling the truth. Unless the other person totally agrees and says, "Yes, I'm guilty," then I have to make a decision based on the "facts" you're giving me and the facts the accused is giving me. It's as simple as that.
I know that women don't report abuse or follow through with charges, etc., which is why the state has started to pick such charges up. Memph said the police were called out during the incident. If he is telling the truth, I'm quite sure that part of it can be proven. If a police report was taken, it should be public knowledge.
i definitely understand what you are saying.. i have 3 kids myself and would hate to have that happen too.
Deletebut my thing is she never mentioned his name on the show. they revealed themselves, so it's different than someone coming to you saying your kid or your son did this. and yes, he knew she was speaking about him but WE didn't.
and from what i understand this has been circulating in the industry. her record label did indeed release her from her debt and allowed her to leave.
like that old adage goes, a struck dog will holler.
but as i said before i just hate that as a society we automatically assume the worse when it comes to a victim..
And my thing is, why automatically assume SHE'S the victim? Let's not forget many innocent are in jail or have been executed because the "victim's" word was taken at face-value.
DeleteEven though she didn't name him on the show, it was no secret that she was talking about him. Like you said yourself, this has been circulating for a while, so of course he knew she meant him. Mariah Carey didn't mention any names in her song, "Clown," but we knew she was talking about Eminem.
true.
Deletewell hopefully, if it is true and he did do it, he has gotten the help an abuser needs and learned from his past and is no longer an abuser.
and if it isn't true, hopefully, she gets the help that she needs for fabricating a story to this extent.
we may never know the truth. but, i can't see mona scott and viacom the parent company of vh1, bet, mtv etc,. not do their due dilligence and allow a story to be aired if it didn't hold water. simply because it is so easy to sue.
who knows except for him, her and our creator.
Now THAT, Anon, is real talk.
DeleteThis is really disheartening. If she had provided you all with proof (i.e. Rhianna/CB incident), ya'll would still say it was something she did to deserve it. If she had called the police, she'd be labeled a snitch. K. Michelle is a little much at times as are most victims of DV which is why the abuser feels he/she "must get them under control." Memphiz and Toya doth protest too much-he did something to that girl. When he does it to Toya-I hope ya'll are just as supportive of her.
ReplyDeletek.
DeleteNo, actually, I will eloborate. LOLITA YOLONDA BROWN has her own mind, so please don't put me in that box labled, "Y'all." If K. Michelle ever proves that she is telling the truth, like I said, I am big enough to admit I was wrong, point blank. No, I will not call her a snitch. I don't believe in calling people snitches. That is one of the most insane things I've ever heard of. Hale, if you don't want to be caught doing something, don't do it! I woulnd't DARE fix my lips to call someone a snitch because they told the truth about something.
DeleteNow, exactly what would YOU do if Memph proved HIS innocence?
Listen, I do NOT apologize for wanting to get the FACTS before I'm ready to send a person to the electric chair. Anyway, whatever happened to, "Innocent until proven guilty"? That usually means, show me the evidence that a person is guilty and let it be so.
Again, just because K. MICHELLE said things happened the way they did doesn't make it Biblical and by the same token, just because Memph said things DIDN'T happened the way K. Michelle said they did doesn't make his story Biblical.
All we have at this point to go by is the actions of the accused and the accuser. Now, I don't know about you, Anon, but I haven't seen Memph in action but I have seen K. Michelle. She comes across as childish and hot-tempered, pretty much the same as Evelyn. We know that Evelyn tends to be violent but we don't really know Chad to be violent. So, we either assume that Evelyn did something to provoke Chad into hitting her (like hitting him first, which, I'm inclined to believe that she did after finding the condom receipt) or we just don't feel too sorry for her because she has been known to bully people.
Deletejust fyi.. i'm anon 9:59 a different one than 11:16 & 11:23 :) i need to create an account.
DeleteThanks, Anon 9:59/11:43.
DeleteIn all seriousness, this is a really ugly situation and whatever the truth is, I hope they can all move on someday. It's too much on a person to continue to let hate, jealously, anger, etc. fester.
P.S. It was his own fast assed, naive wife that outed him as K.Michelle's alleged abuser.
ReplyDeleteP.P.S. Rasheeda needs to sit her irrelevant ass down somewhere, unpack them bags under her eyes
SEE THIS IS THE THE REASON SO MANY BLACK WOMEN ARE VICTIMS OF ABUSE. BLACK WOMEN THINK WHEN U TELL THEM SOMETHING ABOUT THIER MAN ,THAT U WANT HIM. THERE IS NOT ANY EXCUSE FOR A MAN TO BEAT A WOMAN. LOOK A RIH RIH AND CHRIS SOME OF YALL WANTED TO NO WHAT SHE DID TO DESERVE IT.LADIES ONCE A ABUSER ALWAYS A ABUSER.WHAT KIND OF WOMAN WANTS TO LET THE WORLD NO THAT SHE STAYED WITH A MAN AFTER SEVERAL FIGHTS.WHAT YALL SHOULD COMPARE A ABUSER MAN TO IS A CHILDMOLESTER THEY NEVER STOP.
ReplyDeleteToya, I agree with you on one hand, but I really pride myself on looking at things from the other person's point of view. May I ask you, do you have sons? If so, how would you feel if a woman accused your son of "beating" her and he wasn't really given the chance to tell HIS side of the story? How would you feel if a woman provoked your son and in the midst of it, he defends himself but only HE was held accountable? There is a difference in an argument getting out of hand and an abuser. Believe me, I PREACH to my sons, "Keep your hands off of a woman!" And since I know I teach them that, if a woman was to tell me my son beat her, I absolutely want to know the specifics!
DeleteU mmmmm...WHERE IIN THIS STATEMENT IS HE SUING HER FOR CLAIMING DV???? This says misuse of funds and loss of career. iM GONE NEED YOU ALL TO RE-read! Then, comment..IN THAT ORDER!!!!!!

ReplyDeleteI'm tired of black women going on these shows and portraying all of us as violent, whorish, loud mouthed, subhuman beasts to all of the world. New age coons!
