Even Jay-Z and Beyonce can't have it all.
The hip-hop hotshots may have President Barack Obama's friendship on their
side, but the pair officially lost the trademark battle for name "Blue Ivy" this
past weekend. According to Boston's Fox 25, Jay and Bey
initially tried to trademark the name in January, shortly after daughter Blue
Ivy's birth.
E! News reports that the power
couple filed the petition because Beyonce hoped to one day start a line of
children's clothing. Boston event planning firm Blue Ivy vs. Blue Ivy Events in turn defended its
right to use the name, which they'd had since 2009.
And ultimately, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office ruled in favor of the
event company, siding with the company's owner, Veronica Alexandra. Not that the case left a bad taste in the event owner's mouth.
"Congrats to our SOUL MATE Couple with Baby Blue Ivy!!!" the firm captioned a photo of the couple on their
site.

WHY doesn't that baby ever have on any socks?!?!?!
ReplyDeletewhy that child is almost 1 and hasnt kicked that blanket off of her yet?? i dont know too many 10 month olds that allow that unless they are asleep. However that is an old photo... BLAH! Glad they lost their case. Be parents and stop trying to make money off of "your" kid already
