Tuesday, October 2nd - Dear Miss Pearl...

Dear Miss Pearl,

I am 13 year old and started having sex with a boy who live upstairs from us in January. He is 15 years old and did not rape me or nothing I did it because I wanted to do it. His mother works at night and I usually go up there at night when my mother and sister go to sleep.

I am scared now because I am pregnant and I want to tell our mother's but he is scared and told me that if I tell he is going to break up with me. His brother is grown and told him that he will try to get the money for me to have a abortion and have his girlfriend mother take me to have it done, but I think I should tell my mother.

My mom doesn't make lot of money and I know she will be mad and might even put me out for getting pregnant because she has talked to us about having s ex so I don't know what to do. I am supposed to ask my mother if I can spend the weekend with my friend family during Thanksgiving break and that's when they supposed to take me to get the abortion.

Should I do it and hope that my mama won't find out or tell her? I am really scared of my mom and what she will do

Dear Pregnant at 13,

Wow! Girl, what a mess you have going on here. I don't feel comfortable giving you any advice about this, but I don't fell like I have a choice because my spirit is telling me that you desperately need help.

Do NOT have that abortion without talking to your mother!. Number one, what all of these ADULTS are plotting to do behind your mother's back is against the law. You're a minor and no strange woman should be taking you to get ANY type of medical procedure without your mother's consent!

I'm not telling you whether you should ultimately have the procedure or not, but what I AM telling you is that, under NO circumstances are you to do this without talking to your mother first! Yes, she is going to be mad, YES she is going to yell... and yes, she will get over it. All mother's do eventually.

Do you know how your mother would feel if you went out and had this type of procedure and something happened to you? (not to mention the fact that the person who took you to get it done would go to JAIL!)

The sooner you tell your mother, the better - don't wait. I don't trust your boyfriend, or his family, so I think your mother needs to find out TODAY. Sit down with her, cry, yell, scream, faint, do whatever you need to do, but you'd better tell your mama!!!
