A Texas mother says she’s outraged after learning that her 7-year-old son’s
teacher makes students “pay” to use the bathroom.
"I was absolutely appalled," Sonja Cross told NBC 5. "I
could not believe it."
The J.O. Davis Elementary teacher requires students to pay for trips to the
toilet with “Boyd Bucks,” fake money the first-year instructor uses to reward
the children for good behavior.
Cross said she found out about the unusual system after her son wet his pants
during school because he didn’t have enough “Boyd Bucks” for a bathroom run.
“He tried to hold it as much as he could, but he just couldn’t," she
explained. “Really, that's just unhealthy.” Her young son came home crying because his fellow classmates started teasing
him, prompting Cross to demand the teacher end the reward system.
“Originally, when I first spoke with the teacher, she was just going to show
my son special treatment, but then I said, ‘That's just not good enough. I need
for you to stop this for all the children,’” she said.
Cross spoke to administrators at the Dallas-area school who told the
unidentified teacher to do away with the system – for bathroom trips, at
least.

SMH The teacher must've owned a club back in the day. Remember when u used to have to pay to use the bathroom at the clubs? LOL But this situation isn't funny.
ReplyDeleteI remember my 2nd grade teacher wouldn't let me go to the bathroom so I peed right on the carpet & she tried to get me in trouble and she ended up in trouble.
babyyyyyyyyyy! i WISH a teacher would!!
ReplyDeletei told my kids a longgg time ago if a teacher EVER refuses you a bathroom break, to walk out and we will deal with the teacher/school.
I am sure the teacher had good intentions but her method needs some fine tuning if it's to continue. Like allowing the students to borrow from the bank when they dont have enough bucks.
